DEBORAH BROWN
Northern Irish artist Deborah Brown is one of Ireland’s most important living sculptors. She is known for her extraordinary pioneering exploration of the medium of fibre glass in sculpture in the sixties. With this she achieved international acclaim. Living in County Antrim during World War II she then moved to Paris where she became involved in the abstract art movement. An extremely important figure in Irish art, Brown has work in the permanent collection of The Ulster Museum, Belfast, The Hugh Lane Gallery, Dublin and The Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin to name but a few.
Her stunning life size bronze sculpture “Sheep on the road” is prominently situated outside the Waterfront Hall in Belfast.
